Who we are

Heritage Music Entertainment Quizzes ("Heritage Music," "we," "us" or "our") operates the website headheritage.com (the "Site"). The Site offers free music trivia quizzes, answer keys and articles about music history and entertainment.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Site. By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site.

Information we collect

Information you choose to give us

You do not need to create an account or provide personal details to play our quizzes. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you include, such as your name, email address and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider and service partners automatically receive certain technical information when you visit, including:

  • Your IP address and approximate location derived from it (such as country or city)
  • Browser type, device type, operating system and screen size
  • Pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and the page that referred you
  • Information stored in or read from cookies and similar technologies

Quiz answers and scores

Good to know: our quizzes run entirely in your browser. Your selected answers, score, timer and record certification are kept in temporary page memory only. They are not sent to our servers, not linked to your identity and are cleared when you refresh or leave the page.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate, maintain and display the Site and its quizzes correctly on your device
  • Understand which quizzes and articles are popular so we can create better content
  • Show advertising that helps keep the Site free to use
  • Respond to your messages, questions and correction requests
  • Detect, prevent and address spam, fraud, abuse and technical problems
  • Comply with applicable laws and enforce our rights

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We and our partners may use cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies for the purposes below.

TypeWhat it does
EssentialHelps pages load securely and remembers basic settings, such as your cookie consent choice.
AnalyticsCounts visits and shows how visitors use the Site, such as which quizzes are played most.
AdvertisingAllows ad partners to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad and measure ad performance.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you send a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal. If you block cookies, the quizzes will still work, but some ads may be less relevant and certain features may not function as intended.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners. These partners help keep Heritage Music free.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's My Ad Center. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. If you opt out of personalized ads, you may still see ads, but they will be less tailored to your interests.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics or similar analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use the Site. These tools collect information such as pages visited, time spent on pages, device type and approximate location. We use this information in aggregate form and do not use it to identify you personally.

You can prevent Google Analytics from using your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy.

How information is shared

We share information only as described in this policy, including with:

  • Service providers such as web hosting, security, analytics and email providers that help us operate the Site
  • Advertising partners such as Google, which collect information through cookies as described above
  • Legal authorities when required by law, court order or to protect the rights, property or safety of our visitors, ourselves or others
  • A successor organization if the Site is involved in a merger, sale or transfer of assets

How long we keep data

We keep emails you send us for as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence, then delete them. Analytics and advertising data are retained according to our partners' retention settings and policies. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting purposes.

  • Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent you previously gave
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising, as defined under U.S. state privacy laws such as California's CCPA/CPRA
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, such as the National Privacy Commission in the Philippines under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, or a supervisory authority in the EU or UK

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact us section. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
